Tournament Description
The 2025 PEI Provincial Pickleball ÎPÉ Championships is open to all residents of PEI. This is a Pickleball Canada sanctioned Tier 2 tournament that will use current Global Pickleball Federation rules.
You must be a member of Pickleball Canada and PEI Pickleball ÎPÉ to participate. If you are currently not a member of Pickleball Canada and PEI Pickleball ÎPÉ, you must take out/renew your membership
at https://pickleballcanada.org/membership/join-renew/ before your registration will be considered complete.
Tournament registration must be completed online at pickleballtournaments.com. If you have a partner, choose 'I Have' and select him/her or select 'I Need' a partner.
If you do not have a current rating you will have to go into pickleball.com and create a profile and self rate. All games will count towards your CTPR ( Canadian Tournament Player Rating).
How to find your CTPR rating is outlined below in additional information.
Registration will be considered complete when both players are registered, and payment is made. If payment is not made in 5 days, you will be moved to the Wait List.
Registration will open May 6, 2025 at 1:00 pm Atlantic time.

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
Friday, July 18 – Women’s & Men’s Singles (Rally Scoring to 21)
Saturday, July 19 – Women’s & Men’s Doubles
Sunday, July 20 – Mixed Doubles
Skill levels-2.5, 3.0, 3.5. 4.0 and above. Age limits are based upon the players age as of December 31, 2025. Minimum age is 16.
Skill 2.5- 2.9, Age brackets , 16-49 and 50 and above
Skill 3.0- 3.4, Age brackets, 16-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and above
Skill 3.5-3.9, Age brackets, 16-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and above
Skill 4.0 and above, Age brackets, 16-49 and 50 and above
Players guaranteed minimum 4 matches per event
Tournament Ball: Franklin X-40
NEW RULE: Avoid wearing apparel that matches the ball color!
Players may enter a maximum of 3 events and may only enter one doubles, one mixed doubles and one singles event.

A CHANGE IN THE 2025 RULEBOOK ALLOWS RALLY SCORING FOR SINGLES. WE WILL USE RALLY SCORING FOR ALL SINGLES
Age brackets will be combined if the number of entries does not support separating brackets by age.
Matches will be a round robin with a single elimination playoff. Each match in round robin will be 1-11 win by 2 or 1 game to 15 win by 2, depending on number of teams in the bracket.
Gold medal rounds will be best 2 out of 3, to 11 win by 2 . Bronze will be 1 game to 15 win by 2.
All singles matches will be rally scoring to 21.
Medals will be awarded to the top three teams in each (combined) bracket.
If this is the first time you will participate in a tournament which uses the Pickleballtournaments.com, you will need to create a player profile and give careful thought to the skill level you record in your Player Profile.
Participants may play up a max. skill level (1) or DOWN in age. Participants may not play up in age groups.
The tournament committee reserves the right to place players in their appropriate skill level category and to combine brackets based on registrations.

NEW RULE FOR 2025:
Inappropriate apparel may now include apparel that approximates the colour of the
tournament ball. Players are to avoid wearing apparel that approximates the
color of the tournament ball. The Tournament Director retains the right to require an apparel change during a non-chargeable time-out.

Additional Information
All divisions will be a round robin format. The number of teams advancing to the playoffs will be determined upon the number of teams registered.
The tournament reserves the right to combine age and/or skill levels as needed.
Older Athletes may play down in age brackets. Younger athletes may NOT play up in age brackets.
Participants must have a player profile on pickleballtournament.com which includes a rating. If you do not have a rating you will need to self rate.

4. select pickleball Canada (ctpr)
5. There will be 3 purple rectangles, select one saying members
6. search your name and select it
7. your ctpr rating will come up
Refund Policy
The deadline for refunds is July 5, 2025. All refunds will be subject to a $10.00 administrative fee.
