We always strive for new and innovative ideas for our players...so....our Summer Sizzler Tournament will be the first major tournament to be held indoors on DEDICATED Pickleball courts, and will be a DAY/NIGHT DOUBLE HEADER EVENT! Doubles in the morning, Mixed Doubles in the evening with a very exciting 5.0 Demo and Clinic to fill the afternoon.

Early Bird registration is $55 (regularly $65) ending July 1! Each event is $20 in addition to the registration fee. A $5 bracket admin fee is added to all registrations.

The tournament will be hosted by Dill Dinkers in Finksburg, Maryland. We are THRILLED to be able to be the first event to use their 12 PERMANENT and BEAUTIFUL and AIR-CONDITIONED new courts. Register early...we will be capping the number of players in each event to 24 PLAYERS (12 teams)....because we want to keep things moving along fast with as little sitting as possible. As we get closer to the event we may increase some event registrations based on who has signed up.

We will start with Mens doubles in the morning. We will start play at 9:00am (because we really don't like playing in those crack of dawn tournaments ourselves! Coffee anyone???) Then mixed doubles will be in the evening around 5:30pm. Times may change slightly when the final registration is tallied. The evening event should be a BLAST....make it a date night with your favorite mixed doubled partner...we will blend a tournament atmosphere that will transition into a relaxing social open play for teams and guests with food, drinks for sampling and purchase and Pickleball! Plan on sticking around and having some more fun after the competition ends! Lights will be turned off at 11PM.

The Summer Sizzler line-up of events feature some new and exciting formats created to best serve our players. Here is the planned schedule:

All events are $20 each. For example, if you play in 2 events the fee would be $40 in addition to the registration fee. Also, a $5 bracket management fee is added to your registration that covers the cost for the bracket management system we use.

Between the morning and evening tournaments we are presenting a unique opportunity to watch some of the areas elite players in a friendly exhibition. The 5.0 Demo. This is a free ticketed event for the first 50 to sign up. Adults may bring an additional 2 children with each ticket. Visit Picklemesilly.com/50DEMO for more details and tickets.

This event is a unique opportunity to watch a live competition between a select group of 5.0+ players. Teams will compete in a while commentators will describe the action and provide valuable insight to player techniques and strategies. Meet and greet the players after the event to discuss the match and improve your game. A real rare opportunity in this area to watch some of the best up close!

This tournament will be a round robin (except 4.0+ events, which will be 2 of 3 to 11 double elimination) tournament with playoffs. First rounds will be a single matches to 15 with by 2. Our target registration will guaranteed your team to play in at least 3 games. Advancing teams will compete in a best 2 out of 3 games to 11 win by 1. Bronze medal matches will be one match to 15 win by 2. Gold medal matches will be best 2 out of 3 games to 11 win by 2. Champions, runner-up, and third place will be awarded medals.

All registered players will be receive a gift for their participation.

Skill brackets include: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0+. Team skill level will be determined by the highest skill level. Older players may play down, but not up in age groups.

Age groups are 18 to 45 and 46 and over for all events 3.0 to 4.0. All 4.0 skills events are all ages. Under 18 need parental permission form completed please contact us before registration.

Games will be played on 12 indoor dedicated Pickleball courts. Franklin X-40 pickleballs will be used.

Both partners must be paid in full with signed waivers for registration to be considered complete and to ensure your spot in the bracket.

DON'T WORRY! All registered players will receive an email when schedules are posted online. Instructions will be provided on when to report and where to view your bracket.

Spectators are welcome to attend the event and cheer on their friends and family. There is standing room around the courts and some limited seating provided. Chairs can be set up in designated areas around the court fences. Please no tents inside the facility. There is also a lounge and full restrooms with showers. Lockers available on first come first serve bring your own lock.

Players attending their first tournament event are encouraged to arrive early to ask questions and get comfortable with a new and exciting tournament environment.

Players may warm up on open courts before the start of play. Players arriving after start of play will be allowed a 5-minute warm up on assigned court if no courts are available before start time.

All players will need to attend a BRIEF mandatory player meeting before the start of play.

Primary format will be round robin with play-offs. Except the 4.0+ groups will play 2 of 3 to 11 double elimination. In the event that a bracket does not have sufficient teams the Tournament Director reserves the right to combine brackets.

USAPA 2023 rules will apply. Referees may be provided for championship rounds.

Award medals will be awarded for the top three teams in each bracket Champion (gold)/Runner-Up (silver)/Third Place (bronze).

You are encouraged to bring your own pre-prepared food and drinks. Some food and beverages will be provided during the social play on a first come first serve basis for registered players.

Children are welcome, and are to be supervised at all times by an adult to not interfere with game management or competition.

Alcohol is permitted in the facility by persons 21 and over. No alcohol consumption is permitted on the playing courts at any time. Players competing in the scheduled events may NOT consume alcohol at any time until they are eliminated from the tournament competition. No exceptions. Violators will be disqualified without warning and without refunds. There is no smoking or vaping of any kind inside the facility at any time.

Please no food or drinks allowed inside the playing courts. No radios or noise makers are permitted. No soliciting, advertising banners, and signs are permitted.

The facility does not allow for pets. Requests for service animals must be submitted 1 week in advance.

A certified EMT/Athletic Trainer will be on side during playing times to assist players with any medical concerns.

And we all want to have FUN at these events...we will do our utmost to provide a safe and comfortable environment for our players, guests, and staff. Everyone is expected to exhibit the highest degree of good judgement, adhere to all municipal laws and regulations, and exhibit the highest degree of sportsmanship and fair play at all times. If you plan on drinking alcohol, Uber and other shared ride services are strongly encouraged. The management reserves the right to dismiss any player, team, or spectator at any time for violation of generally accepted codes of good conduct published herein or otherwise assumed. The event management reserved the right to remove any person in violation of these expectations from the event without warning, and without refund. Please secure your valuables at all times or leave at home. There are limited lockers available on a first come first serve basis. The event management is not responsible for property lost and or stolen that is brought to the event.

Withdrawals before August 1, 2023 will receive a full refund minus a $25 cancellation fee.

This is an indoor tournament and will take place in the event of rain. Any unforseen conditions requiring the cancellation or postponement of the event will be communicated to attendees.
