SKILLS CLINICS
Purpose: Provide skills clinics by Professional Level Instructor and Player Marcus Luke
Dates: 20 October 2022
Location: Davidson County Senior Center, 555 W. Center Street Extension, Lexington, NC
Fees: $40 per clinic

Clinic #1, 8:00-10:00am, for beginners and intermediate level players although all levels can benefit
1) Grasping the When, why and How of Serve,Return,Third and Dink (adjusting mechanics and addressing footwork and paddle prep issues as well)
2) Getting to kitchen and what to do once you’re there. (Becoming comfortable with the “soft game”)
3) patience vs aggression(offense vs defense)
Clinic #2, 10:30am-12:30pm, generally for more advanced players
1) Setting up points/applying strategies based on opponents strengths and weaknesses
2) Thinking 3 shots ahead . You don’t win most points on FIRST shot. (How to set up a point=chess match)
3) court movement, coverage and recovery
4) drills to get to your NEXT level
Note: player entry fees go to instructor and clinic expenses and are not used for building outdoor couerts
4th ANNUAL PIGGLEBALL FUNDRAISER
Purpose: to continue to raise funds which will be donated to a 501c3 for the goal of outdoor pickleball court construction.
Dates: 20 - 23 October 2022 (Thursday through Sunday)
Location: Davidson County Senior Center, 555 W. Center Street Extension, Lexington, NC
Entry Fee (Tax deductible): Registration $30 plus $10 for each event. The skills clinic is $40 and is not paid through this website. Note: there is an additional nonrefundable $2 processing fee charged by picklebrackets.com per player registration.
Snacks and water will be provided.
Events are by
skill levels (3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5) and
age groups (11-39, 40-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & over
NOTE; Depending upon number of entries, events may be combined at the discretion of the Tournament Director. Date and times of events may change so please check website each night starting on 19 October.
Event Groupings: Women’s, Mised and Men’s
Partners: required for entry, you provide your own partner.
Play Format: Round Robin, 1 game matches to 11 win by 1.
Medals: for first 3 finishers in combined events.
Required liability waiver at check-in desk before participation.
Lunch: provided on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Snacks and water: provided all days.
Note: THERE ARE NO REFUNDS OF ENTRY FEES UNLESS THE TOURNAMENT IS CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF ENTRIES IN WHICH CASE PARTIAL REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED. NOTE: ISSUANCE OF REFUNDS MAY TAKE QUITE A WHILE SINCE WE ARE WORKING WITH A 501C3 AND THE COUNTY. THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE.
