Tournament Description
Due to a long weekend of inclement weather at the PPA Tour: CIBC Texas Open, the PPA Tour and United Pickleball Association have come together with Picklr Mckinney to host a makeup event for those who were not able to play their event! On July 21st, The Picklr Mckinney will play host to a United Pickleball Association State Championship event. This event will be free and closed to the public, those who have received an email will also receive a code to register for the event.
UNITED PICKLEBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
This tournament is a part of the United Pickleball State Championship Series. Gold, Silver and Bronze medalists in any skill/age event (excluding Pro, Senior Pro, Junior and Money Ball events), will automatically receive an entry into the United Pickleball State Championship.
Which state has the best pickleball players?
The answer will be revealed soon enough, courtesy of the inaugural United Pickleball State Championship Series, a set of tournaments conducted across all 50 states in the country. The Medalists of these events will secure discounted registration into the United Pickleball Championships “Champions Division” taking place Nov. 4 through Nov. 10 in Dallas, TX.

Champions Division Participants who secure a spot on the podium (Bronze, Silver or Gold) in a skill/age event at a State Championship are eligible for a complimentary event fee to the United States Championship in Dallas, TX. This exclusive offer recognizes and rewards excellence in the Champions Division and ensures the best possible competition.
The United States Championship will take place from November 4th to the 10th.
Discounted Registration. Medalists in skill/age events at United Pickleball State Championship events will receive the following discounts on registration:
Gold - 100% (Free Registration)
Silver - 50%
Bronze - 33%
Medalists will receive an e-mail after a qualifying tournament with details about how to register for the United States Championship in Dallas.
Additional Information
FORMAT
Amateur Format for Skill/Age Events
Skill Levels 5.0 & 4.5 and all other skill levels with more than 20 teams (or 20 players for singles):
Double Elimination with no come around (i.e. if a team loses a match the best they can do is bronze. They cannot come around to win the gold).
* Main Draw: Matches consist of a best of 3 game format with each game to 11, win by 2 points.
* Consolation: Each match consists of one game to 15, win by two points except for the final match which determines 3rd place.
* Events will be combined if there are less than 4 teams in Doubles and less than 4 players in Singles. Depending on the number of registered players/teams in each event, we will combine events either based on skill or age to provide the best overall playing experience, given the circumstances.
* Events with 5 teams or less for doubles and 4 players or less for singles will play a Round Robin format. Winners will be determined by matches won, head-to-head, and point differential.
Skill Levels 4.0, 3.5 & 3.0 with 20 teams (20 players for singles) or less:
Round Robin Format with Playoffs:
4 teams: Single Round Robin with Playoffs for the top three teams,
5 teams: Single Round Robin with Playoffs of the top three teams.
6 teams: Single Round Robin with Playoffs of the top three teams.
7 teams: Single Round Robin with Playoffs for the top three teams.
8 teams: 2 pools of 4. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top two teams of each pool.
9 teams: 1 pool of 4. 1 pool of 5. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top two teams of each pool.
10 teams: 2 pools of 5. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top two teams of each pool.
11 teams: 1 pool of 5. 1 pool of 6. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top two teams of each pool.
12 teams: 3 pools of 4. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
13 teams: 2 pools of 4. 1 pool of 5. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
14 teams: 2 pools of 5. 1 pool of 4. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
15 teams: 3 pools of 5. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
16 teams: 4 pools of 4. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
17 teams: 3 pools of 4. 1 pool of 5. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
18 teams: 2 pools of 5. 2 pools of 4. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
19 teams: 3 pools of 5. 1 pool of 4. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
20 teams: 4 pools of 5. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
21 + teams: Double Elimination with no come-around.
Players will be placed into pools based on their rating.
Round Robin Format: Games 1-15 win by 2. Playoff Format: Games 1-15 win by 2 and games 2/3 to 11 win by 2 for Gold.
Please note that if you are playing in a doubles event and your partner does not register within 7 days of when you register, you will automatically be moved to the waitlist. Your spot in the main event will NOT be saved. If (after you are both registered and paid for the event) there is room in the main event, you will be moved back to the main event. If the event has filled up in the meantime, you will remain on the waitlist until a spot opens up.
PARTNER REPLACEMENT POLICY
If your partner from the PPA Tour: Texas Open is not able to attend, you are allowed to switch them out for a new partner!
After registration is closed, any registered player losing a partner must replace that partner with an already registered player. The replacement partner must be in the same skill/age group that you are scheduled to play. Players can play down in age and up in skill. Replacements need to be known and communicated to the registration contact by 6pm the day before you are scheduled to play. Replacements can be found on the players needing partners list.
Refund Policy
As this is a make-up event for a previously scheduled event and there is no charge to the players, there is no refund to be issued for any reason.
