The Queensland Pickleball Tour is a series of 7 events played in some of Queensland's best locations. The series will offer 19+ Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles, 35+ Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles, 50+Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles and 60+ Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
Players can play one singles, one doubles and one mixed doubles event at each tournament.
For Hervey Bay, juniors are welcome to join 19+ or 4.0+ labelled events. If there are 4 entries we can create a hybrid (mixed gender) division of that event.
Round Robin with Playoffs:
4 teams: Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top four teams.
5 teams: Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top four teams.
6 teams: Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top four teams.
7 teams: Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top four teams.
8 teams: 2 pools of 4. Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top two teams from each pool.
9 teams: 1 pool of 4, 1 pool of 5. Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top two teams from each pool.
10 teams: 2 pools of 5. Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top two teams from each pool.
11 teams: 1 pool of 5, 1 pool of 6. Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top two teams from each pool.
12 teams: 2 pools of 6. Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top two teams from each pool.
Pool Play: 1 game to 15, win by 2 or 1 game to 11 win by 2
Playoffs: 1 game to 15, win by 2
Bronze Medal Match: 2/3 games to 11, win by 2
Gold Medal Match: 2/3 games to 11, win by 2
*Events to be combined if there are less than 4 teams in Doubles or less than 4 players in Singles. Tournament organizers possess the right to combine events based on either skill or age to provide the best overall playing experience, given the circumstances.
Ranking points accrued in all 3.5+ and Open events
Gold 100pts
Silver 80pts
Bronze 70pts
4th 60pts
Losing quarterfinalists 40pts
Losing round of 16 20pts
Round robin match win, 3pts
Participation with no win 1pts each game
Any tie on points will be decided using points differentials.
The top three players in each division across singles, doubles and mixed doubles will be announced and crowned at the end of the year.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Skill Levels: For Doubles, you must sign up at the skill level of the higher-rated partner.
DIRECTOR'S DISCRETION
The tournament director reserves the right to:
- review, and possibly alter the rating of players who self-rate below or above their actual ability.
- move players and teams between skill level brackets if on verification the wrong event has been entered.
- merge or split brackets based on event registration. Any event with fewer than 4 entries will be combined with another event of closest possible standard.
- change start times to facilitate smooth running of the tournament
- The tournament director reserves the right to modify the events and/or schedule as needed pending influences beyond our control (ie. Fire drill etc).
LIVE STREAMING
Live video and audio of matches will be recorded and broadcast online. Recording equipment
at matches may record your image, voice and other identifying features. Please observe
appropriate standards of behaviour, conduct and language in or around the live streaming
devices, whose presence will be marked by signage at the match.
