Welcome to **Real Pickleball in Guelph**.
We are excited to host the **Real Summer Slam**, a competitive weekend tournament at our facility featuring **8 professional pickleball courts** that are well spaced and individually fenced.
## Tournament Overview
This will be a **skill/age tournament** with divisions offered in the following age categories:
* 12+
* 50+
* 60+
* Split-age, where one partner is under 50 and the other is 50+
Skill levels offered:
* 3.0
* 3.5
* 4.0
* 4.5
Players may register for up to **4 events**.
The Tournament Director reserves the right to combine or split brackets and adjust formats based on registration numbers.
## Registration Details
The base registration fee is **$70**.
An early bird discount of **$10** is available for players who register before **June 20**.
Event fees are:
* **3.0 and 3.5 divisions:** $15 per event
* **4.0 and 4.5 divisions:** $25 per event
Your spot is not guaranteed until **both partners are registered and paid in full**. Once one partner registers, the second partner has **5 days** to complete registration before the team is automatically moved to the waiting list.
A minimum of **4 games is guaranteed**. We will make every effort to provide additional games where bracket size and scheduling allow.
## Prize Money
Medals will be awarded to all podium finishers.
In the **4.0 and 4.5 divisions**, prize money will also be awarded to the **gold medalists**.
## Tournament Schedule
**Friday, August 14**
Split-age gender doubles and split-age mixed doubles
**Saturday, August 15**
Men’s doubles and women’s doubles
**Sunday, August 16**
Mixed doubles
Planned start time each day is **8:00 AM**. Final event start times will be confirmed and shared a few days before the tournament.
## DUPR Rating Requirement
This is a **DUPR-rated tournament**. All players must have a linked DUPR account to participate.
DUPR ratings will be used to determine the minimum skill division a player is eligible to enter. Players may play up in skill level, but may not play down.
Skill placement will follow this general structure:
* DUPR up to 3.49: 3.0 division
* DUPR 3.50 to 3.99: 3.5 division
* DUPR 4.00 to 4.49: 4.0 division
* DUPR 4.50 and above: 4.5 division
## Rules and Match Format
The tournament will follow **USA Pickleball rules**.
Our goal is to have all medal matches refereed, along with additional matches where referee availability allows.
All divisions are planned to use a **pool round robin format**, with the top teams from each pool advancing to a playoff round to determine medal winners.
Match format:
* Most games will be played to **15, win by 2**
* If a pool has 6 or 7 teams, games may be played to **11, win by 2**
* Gold medal matches will be **best 2 out of 3 games to 11, win by 2**
