Red Deer Open Pickleball Round Robin Tournament

The Red Deer Pickleball Club is pleased to invite you to our 12th Red Deer Open Tournament August 6 – Aug 9, 2026 on our beautiful outdoor 20 courts in Red Deer, Alberta. The tournament will offer categories Mens and Ladies doubles, Singles and Junior events, mixed doubles with age categories (depending on the number of registrations). Events will include age categories from junior (18 and under) to 70+, with skill level competitions 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and open (open events are restricted to players of 4.5 or greater tournament rating). Should both players choose to, they may play up ONLY a 0.5 rating level from their current DUPR. The only exception is for 4.5+ or Open events, where all players must have a minimum 4.5 DUPR rating to play in that event.
The tournament organizers reserve the right to adjust brackets/pools as needed based on registrations, age, and other reasonable factors. In the event of unforeseen circumstances such as weather or air quality a 3 hour notice will be given where possible to players.
Pickleball Canada Membership: Every single participant must be a current member of Pickleball Canada.
Event Dates:
08/06/26 - Singles All Day (Skinny and Full)
08/07/26- Men's Doubles
08/08/26- Mixed Doubles
08/09/26- Women's Doubles
Typically 8 AM start time for the first events of the day.
The registration fee is $70 for early bird registration, $85 for regular registration, or $90 for late registration. Each event will have a cost of $15 with a maximum of 3 events to participate in. Registration opens April 18, 2026 at 6 PM. A registration is considered complete when the team information is complete and paid in full. For doubles events both players must register within 7 days of the first player's registration, or the team will be moved to the waitlist.
Format:
Round Robin/Pool Play
All players or teams play each other. The playoff rounds will consist of a semifinal and a final game.
For 1 pool the top 4 teams will play semi finals 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3, then the winners will advance to the Gold medal match and losers of those games will play in the Bronze medal match.
or if two pools
The semi-finals will consist of Pool1#1 vs Pool2#2 and Pool1#2 vs Pool2#1, then the winners will advance to the Gold medal match and losers of those games will play in the Bronze medal match.
All events, including singles, will offer a Round Robin pool-play format. If there are not enough teams for pool play they will be combined
This is a Canadian Pickleball format with our goal to have referees only for medal matches.
We hope to have youth brackets but youth may play in the adult group if not enough juniors.
Skill levels are 3.0 to open division

Ratings are based on the current DUPR rating at time of registration.

Pre-Deadline Registration Fee of $85.00 will take effect on May 15, 2026 @ 4:00 pm
Final Deadline Registration Fee of $90 will take effect on Jul 15, 2026
