This is the FOURTH year that the Rotary Club of Martinsburg has the phenomenal opportunity to embrace and maintain its established “footprint” for this new, exciting “fundraiser” via Pickleball Tournaments/Brackets! As you know, this paddle sport is trending throughout the U.S. and many foreign nations! Many other Rotary Clubs throughout the U.S. are using Pickleball as a fundraiser as well. Pickleball has no economic, financial, nor social barriers among its players. Regionally, many players from our geographic area have traveled to play in (sanctioned/unsanctioned) tournaments for the challenge and fun of the sport! Therefore, the Rotary Club of Martinsburg has engaged with PickleballTournaments/Brackets.com to bring a higher level of tournament play to the area and to further draw players to our locality! Rotary has rallied to fill the void by establishing high level annual Pickleball tournaments in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, since 2022.
The Rotary Club of Martinsburg is continuing its fourth year for success, thanks to the Players, Sponsors, Volunteers, Staff of Parks & Recreation, and Managers of Pickleball Tournaments/Brackets, since it has initiated its “inaugural” Pickleball Tournament!
The Rotary Club of Martinsburg celebrates its past three years’s success of this “fundraising” event, the annual “Classic” ROTARY CLUB of MARTINSBURG (WV) - PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT(s), that has raised approximately $70,000!

About Us:
The local Martinsburg Rotary Club is an organization of people (Rotarians) with the same interest, who meet regularly and take part in shared activities. These members, comprised of many business and civic leaders in the community, are associated and involved to make a difference locally, nationally, and internationally, as per the Club’s “mission” and “purpose”!
The Martinsburg Rotary Club is a local non-profit, non-political service organization that initiates “fundraisers” to seek and supplement financial support for various charity organizations and community service projects.
The Club’s Mission involves developing the next generation of informed leaders about Rotary’s Vision. Rotary Clubs and Rotarians provide funding and support Rotary’s sanctioned programs and projects with goals to transform the world to become a better place, thus engaging with other nations and society, bringing about harmony and freedom of peace as its priority from the various Rotary programs. These programs involve:
Community Service; Youth Service via Interact (High Schools) & Rotaract (Colleges) Sponsorships; International Service, to include Rotary Exchange Students and Groups between nations; Membership & Rotary Foundation (convert Rotarian’s financial gifts into service projects); Club Programs & Public Relations in collaboration with other Rotary Clubs to enhance awareness, common goals, programs, and projects in our communities and around the world.
The Purpose of every Rotary Club, being under the umbrella of Rotary International, is committed to service, fellowship, diversity, integrity and leadership in the community. Rotarians serve their communities through volunteer efforts. Its members are a network of businesses and professional leaders, who are devoted to the Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self”!
A few of Rotary’s International worldwide initiatives include Clean Water, Education, Peace, as well as, the Polio Eradication Initiative that has been ongoing for the past 35 years. Rotary Clubs also sponsors “ShelterBox” program, a commitment that makes an ongoing impact in worldwide disaster response.
Therefore, the Martinsburg Rotary Club has planned these relevant “fundraisers” by establishing these official annual “Rotary Pickleball Tournaments” in Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia!
Note: * The “recipients of the proceeds” in each “fundraiser” is based on the decision of the Rotary’s President and the Board of Directors!
Our Rotary Club’s fundraising efforts support our local community with the focus on the Rotary International Seven Areas of Focus:
- Basic Education and Literacy
- Maternal and Child Health
- Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution
- Disease Prevention and Treatment
- Water and Sanitation
- Economic and Community Development
- Supporting the Environment
Many past projects by our Rotary Club:
- Annual, Multiple High School scholarships
- Annual Dictionary Projects for 3rd Graders in Berkeley County
- Built pavilions at War Memorial Park and Old Poor House Farm/Park, in conjunction with Parks & Recreation
- Built restrooms at the soccer fields in Falling Waters, formerly DuPont, property in conjunction with Parks & Recreation
- Supporting the Boys & Girls Club, Rescue Mission and other nonprofit organizations
- Purchase “Shelter Boxes” to be sent to inclement disaster areas
- Fund international water projects in third world, underserved countries, etc.
- Established an annual “Foundation” to receive application(s) and issue grant(s) to “non-profit” organization(s)
- And many, many other Programs & Projects over the Rotary Club’s “100 (+)” years of Service!
