WELCOME TO OUR 2nd annual "SASQUATCH SLAM" PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT IN BEAUTIFUL ELLIJAY, GEORGIA! We are thrilled to be able to present this tournament at one of the most beautiful times of the year in the North Georgia Mountains. We have 8 beautiful dedicated outdoor courts with additional courts as needed.
Proceeds from this tournament will go to the Gilmer County Pickleball Club, where the funds will be used to enhance our pickleball facility and club needs, as well as donate to local charities of our choice.
As a benefit all Gilmer Pickleball Club Members will receive a $10 discount when you register!
This year we are expanding to 4 days, Thursday-Sunday. On Thursday and Friday, 60 and older players will play Gender Doubles on Thursday, Oct. 22 and Mixed Doubles on Friday, Oct. 23. Players ages 50 and under will play Gender Doubles on Saturday, Oct. 24 and Mixed Doubles on Sunday, Oct. 25. THIS YEAR, PLAYERS 60 AND OLDER MAY PLAY IN UP TO 4 EVENTS! (ONE EVENT EACH DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT)
FORMAT
4 Games Guaranteed
All brackets will offer a round robin format
All round robin matches will be one game to 15, win by two points. All medal matches are 1 game to 15, win by 2.
3 TEAM/PLAYER BRACKET
If there are three (3) teams/players in a bracket, the bracket will be a double Round Robin group. The top 2 teams will play for Gold, with the 3rd seed receiving Bronze.
4 to 7 TEAM/PLAYER BRACKET:
If there are four (4) to seven (7) teams/players in a bracket, the bracket will be a singular Round Robin group. The top four teams will advance to the playoff stage of the bracket.
8 to 9 TEAM/PLAYER BRACKET:
Brackets of 8 & 9 may be put in 2 pools with 4 teams in each pool advancing to a medal round.
10 + TEAM/PLAYER BRACKET:
If there are ten (10) or more teams/players in a bracket, the bracket will be split into two (2) Round Robin Pools. The top four teams (2 from each pool) will advance to the playoff stage of the bracket.
FINAL STANDINGS
Calculated by finishing position in the playoff stage. Players that do not advance to the playoff stage of the bracket will be ranked by the following tie breaker system: Rank order in the standings is determined by:
Greatest number of matches won
Head-to-head matches won among the tied players/teams (if applicable)
Point differential of all games played
Head-to-head point differential
Point differential against the next-highest player/team
TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR HAS THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THE FORMAT BASED ON COURT AVAILABILITY AND NUMBER OF MATCHES EACH DAY.
COST: $50 INCLUDES REGISTRATION, and DRI FIT SHIRT. GILMER PICKLEBALL CLUB MEMBERS REGISTRATION FEE IS $40.
