MLP Rule Set

The home team will be determined by DUPR, the team with the higher DUPR total is the home team. The home team will fill out their lineup first, Once complete the Visiting team will counter their line with their own. If a DreamBreaker occurs, the same teams will fill out the lineups in the same order.

At the start of each match, a coin toss (or similar random selection) will be conducted. The winner will elect to choose one of the following options: A. Serve or Receive The team selecting to serve or receive will maintain that selection for each game throughout the match. B. End Teams will choose one end of the court to begin the match on. Teams will stay on the end they finish game one (1) on and begin the next game on that end. Example: If Team A selects the right end of the court to start game one (1), they will begin game one (1) on the right end but begin game two (2) on the left end of the court. Team A will then begin on the right end for game three (3) and the DreamBreaker (if one is played during the match).

Each match will consist of four (4) games to 11 (win by 1) with side-out scoring. The four (4) games will be played in this order: Women’s doubles (first), men’s doubles (second), and two (2) mixed doubles (third and fourth). Switch ends at 6. A DreamBreaker will be played to determine the winner of the match if teams are tied at 2-2 after the women’s doubles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles games.

A DreamBreaker is a singles game to 21 (win by 2) with rally scoring and a team must win while serving. Each team must rotate its four roster spots every four rallies, when one team’s score hits 11, ends are changed. Both 55+ divisions will play a mixed doubles Dreambreaker.

Each team gets 1 timeout per match at 1 minute length. End changes are 1 minute in length, 5 minutes between matches for which the teams can warm up with their partners.

Drop serves are allowed and lets will be played as is.

Subs, each team can have a roster of 6 players. While only 4 players are needed for play, the extra subs can show up in case of injury or in the event of a dreambreaker, a sub may be added to the singles roster, creating a singles specialist position if need be. Subs DUPR must fit within the Bracket max of the team, but can be below the min. Anyone on the roster can play any match, just needs to be written on the lineup card prior to the beginning of the match.

Tie Breakers, in the event two or three teams tie after the round robin is complete. Head to Head will break that tie, if a three way tie, point differential, not counting dream breaker matches, will determine the victor.

We will use Franklin X-40 balls
