Sky Island Pickleball Club welcomes you to the High Desert Classic V 2024

This is a MMP USA Pickleball Sanctioned Round Robin Pickleball Tournament with playoffs for Gold/Silver/ Bronze Medals.

USA Pickleball membership is required (see usapickleball.org to join). Valid USAPA membership number required in order to register.

Players may play in skill level events at, or 1.0 above, their current UTPR or initial self-rating at the time of registration.

September 9/14/24 - Saturday - Men's & Women's Doubles (all ages)

September 9/15/24 - Sunday - Mixed Doubles (all ages)

This skill/age tournament will play all events in a round robin format with playoffs and referees for all pre-medal matches and the Gold/Silver/Bronze Medal rounds. The initial age brackets are 60+ and under 60 (19+). ***Juniors 14 and up may play in 19+ events. Additional age brackets may be added based on registrations.*** Based on entries, divisions may need to be combined within skills and age groups. Example 3.0/3.5 50-59, 60-69 & 70+.

***All gold medal matches are offered at 2/3-11 win by 2 unless the TD needs to make a change due to weather/time issues. We will offer the 1-15 win by 2 as an alternative on a case-by-case basis***

3 teams are a double round robin 1-15 win by 2 switch ends at 8 - all teams to playoffs. The top team based on results will have a bye while the bronze match of the 2nd & 3rd place teams play the bronze match 1-15 win by 2. The winner of that goes to play the gold match with the team that was on the bye.

4 to 9 teams are pool dependent games either 1-11 win by 2 switch at 6 or 1-15 win by 2 switch at 8. The top four teams move forward to the playoffs. 1 v 4 & 2 v 3 all requiring a referee. Winners play each other for Gold best 2/3 -11 win by 2 switch at 6. Both non winners play for Bronze 1-15 win by 2 switch at 8 format.

10 or more teams are split into pools. The matches depend on the number of teams (see above). Only the top two from each pool move forward. It’s a crisscross playoff. Pool 1 1st team vs Pool 2 2nd team and at the same time Pool 1 2nd team vs Pool 2 1st team. Those games are 1-15 win by 2 switch at 8. Winners play each other for Gold best 2/3 -11 win by 2 switch at 6. Both non winners play for Bronze 1-15 win by 2 switch at 8 format.

Tournament Director reserves the right to combine or split events, or close events when courts are at capacity even if an event is not full, and change format based on enrollment.

You have six (6) hours for your partner to sign up before being moved to the waitlist. Order on the waitlist is determined by the first player of the team's registration time. Therefore, entry of the team is not complete until BOTH team members create their online registrations & pay their fees. You will automatically be moved back into the event once your partner registers and pays, if there is still room in the event.

All registration and event charges, fees, and waivers must be submitted at the time of registering. PickleballBrackets.com Service Charge Fee is $5 for one event or $10 for two or more events.

1 Event - Registration cost $50, Event charge $10, Service charge fee $5 = Total Cost $65

2 Event - Registration cost $50, Event charge $20, Service charge fee $10 = Total Cost $80

3 Event - Registration cost $50, Event charge $30, Service charge fee $10 = Total Cost $90

4 Event - Registration cost $50, Event charge $40, Service charge fee $10 = Total Cost $100

Sky Island Pickleball Club Members will receive a $10 discount payable the day of the event. Visit the Sky Island Pickleball Club tent to receive your discount or to make a donation.

All participants will receive a Therm-o lunch sack filled with goodies from the event sponsors.

No refunds after September 8, 2024 unless event is cancelled or you did not get in from the waiting list. There is a $5 administrative fee for all refunds. In addition, the PickleballBrackets.com service fee of $5-10 is nonrefundable.

If any event is cancelled due to weather there will be no refund and no makeup rain date will be available.
