Smash for Cash Showdown – $3K Prize Pot!

Join us for an unforgettable weekend of competition and fun at the Smash for Cash Showdown—featuring our largest prize pot yet: $3,000!

The event will take place from March 21st-23rd, 2025 at Life Time Sugar Land.

Whether you're a seasoned player or new to the game, this event is designed to deliver an action-packed experience with top-tier competition and a great community vibe.

Event Details:

Location: Life Time Sugar Land Pickleball Courts

(Note: Tournament may be held indoors and/or outdoors depending on weather conditions. Specific start times and location details will be sent out 3-7 days prior to the event.)

Registration Information:

Registration Opens: February 5th, 2025 at 8:00 AM

Registration Closes: March 18th, 2025 at 11:55 PM

Early Bird Registration (Ends 2/28/2025):

Club Member: $50

Non-Member: $60

Regular Registration (After 2/28/2025):

Club Member: $60

Non-Member: $70

Teams must register and pay individually via pickleballbrackets.com with a credit/debit card.

Tournament Format:

Events: Singles, Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Doubles.

Game Guarantees: All participants are guaranteed to play multiple games.

Division Formats: Games will follow a round-robin style for guaranteed play before entering medal rounds.

Divisions:

Friday Evening: Men's/Women's Singles (2.0-3.0 3.0-3.5, 3.5-4.0, & 4.0+)

Saturday: Women's and Men's Doubles (2.0-3.0, 3.0-3.5, 3.5-4.0, & 4.0+)

Sunday: Mixed Doubles (2.0-3.0, 3.0-3.5, 3.5-4.0, & 4.0+)

50+ Divisions: Start times TBD; Finalized after registrations.

Senior 50+ Men's/Women's Singles (2.0-3.0 3.0-3.5 & 3.5+)

Senior 50+ Women's and Men's Doubles (2.0-3.0 3.0-3.5 & 3.5+)

Senior 50+ Mixed Doubles (2.0-3.0 3.0-3.5 & 3.5+)

Format:

Round-robin group stages with 3+ teams per group (minimum 2 games per group).

Medal rounds will be played in a seeded bracket, with medals awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Refreshments & Atmosphere:

A variety of snacks, including fruits, vegetables, and baked goods, will be available to keep you energized.

Hydration stations will be provided for players to stay refreshed.

Enjoy the tournament atmosphere and mingle with fellow players and spectators as we celebrate this fast-growing sport.

Delays:

If you're running late, please contact the Tournament Director for updated schedules. However, if you are more than 10 minutes late, your match may result in a forfeit.

All players must have a DUPR account connected to your pickleball tournaments account and add Sugar Land Life Time as a club for correct results upload to DUPR.

All refunds are subject to a $10 cancellation fee. No refunds for any reason after cancellation deadline of December 9th, 2025.

$3,000 Prize Pot – Winner Takes All!

This is our biggest prize pot yet—$3,000! The entire amount will be awarded to the first-place medalist only. That's right—winners take all! There will be no prize money for 2nd or 3rd place.

For context, in our last tournament, the prize pot was $1,500, and the first-place winner took home at least $100. With a larger pot this time, depending on the number of divisions and potential merging of brackets, there could be even more cash to win!
