Event Description / Overview:
Experience March Madness — pickleball style.
Join us at SPF on Saturday, March 21st for a 64-team single elimination showdown modeled exactly after the iconic NCAA tournament bracket. Fast matches, win-or-go-home drama, and nonstop competitive energy.
Teams will battle through four regions in a true bracket format until one pair is crowned SPF March Madness Champion.
Whether you’re chasing a deep bracket run or just want to be part of the madness, this event is built for high-level competitive play and an unforgettable tournament atmosphere.
Format:
- 64 Teams
- Single Elimination
- Traditional March Madness bracket structure
- Win and advance / Lose and move to social play
Matches will progress through:
- Round of 64 → Round of 32 → Sweet 16 → Elite 8 → Final Four → Championship
Skill Level / Eligibility:
This tournament is designed for experienced, competitive players.
Requirements:
- Max Combined DUPR 9.0 (Team Total)
- Players must have an active DUPR account
- DUPR must be connected to your PickleballTournaments.com profile
Example:
Two 4.5 players = 9.0 combined (eligible)
⚠️ This is not a beginner / low-intermediate event. Players should be comfortable competing in a fast-paced, high-level tournament environment.
Seeding & Regional Structure:
- Teams will be seeded 1–64 using PickleballTournaments.com software
- Seeds will be divided into four regions
- Each region will mirror a traditional March Madness bracket (1–16)
Fun Twist:
Each seed will be assigned the corresponding college basketball program on the actual March Madness bracket!!
Example:
Seed #1 → Assigned a top NCAA school
Seed #12 → Assigned an upset-watch school 😏
Teams will receive their “school assignment” prior to the tournament — feel free to rep your colors.
Start Times / Schedule:
Tournament Start: 10:00 AM
Due to the size of the draw:
- First Round matches will run in multiple wave start times
- Exact match times will be posted after registration closes
- Players should be available for play throughout the morning/early afternoon depending on advancement
Social Court:
Court 1 = Social Play Court
Eliminated early? Stay and play.
Court 1 will remain open for:
- Social matches
- Challenge games
- Hanging out between rounds
- No one is forced to leave after elimination.
Scoring / Reporting:
All matches will be played to 15 points, win by 2.
The Championship Match will be played best 2 out of 3 games to 11, win by 2.
- Standard tournament scoring
- Results will NOT be reported to DUPR
- DUPR is used for seeding purposes only.
The official tournament ball will be the Franklin X-40.
