Early Registration for Heavy Dinkers Club Members: Friday, May 26, 2023, 9:00 am (PDT)
General Public Registration: Thursday, June 1, 2023, 9:00 a.m. (PDT)
Registration Closes: July 10, 2023, 9:00 p.m. (PDT) Some groups/categories may close prior to June 10, 2023, when the tournament committee deems the event is full.

Saturday, August 5, 2023 - Mixed Doubles
Sunday, August 6, 2023 - Men's Doubles

COMPLETE registration means: both partners have registered, signed the waiver and paid in full.
The tournament director reserves the right to review, and possibly alter the rating of players who self-rate below or above their actual rating. The tournament director reserves the right to merge or split brackets based on event registration.
In doubles events, at least one of the partners must be at the correct skill level. (based on the player's CTPR rating on the day of registration)
FORMAT
1. Round Robin format by skill level and age brackets.
2. The first 5 teams to complete registration will be entered into the event. In some cases, the event may be expanded when other categories are folded. Your fully registered team must be listed on the waitlist to be considered. eg. (4.0 women ages 60-64). If the Tournament Director decides to expand the group to 8 teams, the first 3 teams on the wait list will be admitted to the event.
3. Age/skill events with fewer than 3 teams will not run. In some cases, the Tournament Director may combine events (with another age/skill event) to form a merged event. (eg. 3.5 men ages 50-59)
4. If two events are merged due to a lack of registrations, only ONE set of medals/awards will be awarded
SKILL LEVELS
3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 & 5.0
Note: 2.5 players can play in 3.0 events.
AGE CATEGORIES
50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+
FORMAT
Round Robin format, one game to 15, win by 2, no cap
Pools of 4 or 5 teams. If only one pool - the top 4 teams advance to the medal round
PLAYOFFS FORMAT AFTER ROUND ROBINS
#1 vs #2 for Gold/Silver, best 2 out of 3 to 11, win by 2, no cap
#3 vs #4 for Bronze, one game to 15, win by 2, no cap
In the case when there are pools of 8, 10 or 12, the top 2 teams from each pool advance to the
medal round
Preliminary playoff: POOL A2 vs POOL B1, POOL B2 vs POOL A1
Winners of preliminary playoff matches play for Gold/Silver, best 2 out of 3 to 11, win by 2, no cap
Losers of preliminary playoff matches play for Bronze, one game to 15, win by 2, no cap
CANCELLATION POLICY
Registrants withdrawing before July 10, 2023, will be refunded registration and event fees minus a $15 administration fee. NO refunds will be issued after July 10, 2023.
Refunds could take 5-10 business days.
In the case of inclement weather, or other unforeseen issues between August 4 - 6 that prevent play, only those participants who have not played in any ANY event will be refunded their registration and event fees, minus a $15.00 administration fee.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
This is an outdoor tournament. If there is inclement weather, the tournament committee will attempt to get all matches played, but there will be NO refunds or credits due to the weather. Cancellation is a possibility due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances during the tournament. If this occurs, the tournament director and organizing committee reserve the right to revise schedules (eg. change the format) to allow for evening play or to reschedule events for the rainout day, August 7, 2023. The tournament does not offer registration and/or weather insurance.
NOTE: If it rains on Day 1 of the tournament, and play is suspended for the day, events will be moved to the rainout day, August 7.

VOLUNTEERING
If you are interested in volunteering go to www.pickleballdesk.com and create a free profile. Search for our tournament, Super Senior Slam and pick a day and time when you would like to volunteer or referee.
REFEREES
Will be paid this year.
Hundreds of matches will be played at the 2023 Super Senior Slam. Our referee captains will be working to obtain as many referees as possible. Mentoring sessions will be offered in the Spring for people who want to learn how to referee. If you would like to be trained or evaluated as a referee, please send an email to volunteerssuperseniorslam@gmail.com
Certified Referees - $15/ match Level 2 Referees - $10/ match
Level 1 Referees - $7/ match Volunteer Referees - $5/ match
NEED A PARTNER?
If you need a partner, check the tournament listing on pickleballbrackets.com after June 1, 2023, to see who is looking for a partner. Note: One member of the partnership must qualify for the skill level of the event you wish to enter. (eg. To qualify for a 4.0 event, one player must be rated 4.0) Club ratings are not accepted. It must be a CTPR or UTPR. At this time we are not accepting DUPR ratings at the tournament. The tournament will be using each player's rating on the day he/she registers for the tournament.
If a partner is injured prior to the start of the tournament, but after registration has closed, the tournament director must be contacted at superseniorslam@gmail.com to request a change in partner. There are no restrictions on who is chosen as a replacement partner. Replacement players must qualify to play in the same skill/age group as the injured player. The replacement player must agree to the waiver and submit payment in order to be fully registered. Keep in mind, players may play down in age and up in skill. Consideration and approval for any request for the replacement of a player after registration closes will be at the discretion of the Tournament Desk Director. Should the Desk Director approve the change of partner, a desk operations team member will edit the registration.
HELPFUL INFORMATION
Players are encouraged to bring:
- LOTS OF EXTRA WATER!!!!!!! Dehydration can happen quickly when playing in the sun.
The nearest water refill station is located inside the Recreation Centre, a two-minute walk from the venue.
- a portable chair.
- a hat or umbrella for personal shade. Players are welcome to bring a pop-up tent and place it in one of
the designated areas.
- lunch and snacks, as there may be limited food options at the tournament.
- Players are strongly encouraged to wear protective eyewear when playing. Accidents happen, so be prepared.

We do not have an association with local hotels. Please book early.
