The Cares Clinic Classic - Rally for Rehab Charity Pickleball Tournament @ Bangers and Dinks Indoor Pickleball
Sunday, September 28th - 9-6 pm
The Community Accessible Rehabilitative Exercise Services (CARES) Clinic at VCU is a 501(c)3 pro bono physical therapy clinic run by student volunteers in the VCU Doctor of Physical Therapy program under the supervision of licensed physical therapists that serves the Greater Richmond community. This educational partnership between VCU and the Richmond community integrates hands-on learning with compassion-filled service as students apply knowledge from the classroom to real-world patients. The CARES 13-member student board strives to fulfill the mission of the organization; to provide compassionate, evidence-based physical therapy services focused on optimizing movement and improving quality of life of the uninsured and under-served members of the community. This pickleball tournament is a fundraiser for the operational expenses of the CARES Clinic, as the services provided to patients at CARES are free of charge.
There will be medals for each person for 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place teams for each bracket. The first 35 students to sign up will receive a $20 refund at tournament check in, thanks to a generous donor sponsoring student participation. Additionally, the first 50 people to sign up before September 14th will get a CARES beanie! We will have raffle prizes totaling over $2000+ of monetary value, and tickets will be provided to registered players. Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase, with all proceeds going towards the fundraising efforts of the CARES Clinic at VCU.
