Greenhills Country Club is very excited to host our second edition of The GOAT Fall Open. With eight dedicated pickleball courts and eight temporary courts; the tournament promises to be great competition for all levels along with a place for all players to enjoy. Get ready for an unforgettable tournament filled with camaraderie and amazing pickleball action!

EARLY BIRD discounted registration fee $60 ends August 14th. Registration fee increases to $70 beginning August 15th.

The GOAT is the ONLY tournament offering prize money for all events (amateur & pro), all skills and all ages for all podium winners. No medals will be awarded.

This will be a skill/age event broken into 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 & Pro skill levels and different age levels. We will run Singles, Skinny Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles as well as Mixed Doubles events. There will also be split-age events for 4.0-, 4.0+, 4.5+ and PRO. In a split-age event, one partner must be 50+ and the other below 50. Events will be combined; when necessary, skill will be combined before age. In case of merging/splitting/cancelling events, players will be contacted. The format for amateur & split-age events will be pool round robins followed by a medal round. PRO events (excluding split-age) will be run using double elimination format. No event will run with less than 4 teams. You will be guaranteed at least 4 games in each event; except for PRO double elimination events; where we guarantee 3 games.

NEW this year; pro-qualifier divisions open to all players with DUPR 4.5 and above. Direct registration to PRO events is restricted to players with DUPR 5.0 and above. Qualifiers will take place in the morning of the main pro event.

We will be playing with the Franklin X40 ball. Play will be on indoor professional hardcourt surface; 8 dedicated, individually fenced pickleball courts with permenant nets in addition to 8 spacious and seperated taped courts with temporary nets.

Schedule:

-Thursday Sep 18th: Skill based Skinny Singles during the day and Singles events in the evening.

-Friday Sep 19th: Start with split-age WD events in the morning, then split-age MXD events in the afternoon and finish with split-age MD events in the early evening.

-Saturday Sep 20th: All gender events for 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and Pro levels.

-Sunday Sep 21st: All MXD events for 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and Pro levels.

Your spot is not guaranteed in the event until both partners are registered and paid in full within 7 days of initial registration.

IMPORTANT: DUPR updates almost in real-time. The tournament uses DUPR rating AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION. The tournament director reserves the right to move players between levels to ensure the most competitive experience for all athletes. All scores will be automatically reported to DUPR.

Competition Format

We will do our best to provide maximum possible number of games for each team by combining/splitting events to guarantee maximum value from your participation. The format for non-pro events will depend on the number of teams participating in the event. Here are some examples:

-6 Teams: 1 single pool of 6 teams play round robin; 5 games to 11 win by 2, top 4 qualify to semifinals of knockout round.

-8 Teams: 2 pools of 4 teams play a seeding round robin, 3 games to 15 win by 2, all 4 teams qualify to quarter finals of knockout round.

-10 Teams (preferred): 2 pools of 5 teams play a seeding round robin, 4 games to 15 win by 2, top 3 teams qualify to knockout round.

* Pools with 6 or more teams will have games to 11 win by 2

All medal round games are to 15 win by 2. Gold medal match is best 2 out of 3 games to 11 win by 2.

For double elimination events. winner bracket matches is best 2 out of 3 games to 11 win by 2. Backdraw bracket matches are one game to 15, win by 2. Bronze medal match is best 2 out of 3 games to 11 win by 2.

Final matches will be refereed, we will also try to have as many medal round games as possible with a referee.

Official pickleball rules will be followed for this tournament.

ONLY USAP Approved paddles are allowed.

Refunds available up till Sep 11th, subject to $25 WITHDRAWAL admin fee. No refunds after Sep 11th for any reason including injury and unforeseen circumstances. Refunds will be processed after the tournament.

IMPORTANT

Please note that the tournament software (Pickleball Tournaments) charges a $5.00 USD service fee for each event you register for. Please note The GOAT tournament does not have any control over these fees and they are non-refundable.

No medals are handed out in this tournament. Instead, we are offering prize money for the 3 podium winners in all events regardless of skill or age. Part of each event registration fee contributes into the prize pot for this particular event. The example prizes mentioned below are per team for an event with 10 teams. The amount will increase or decrease with a different number of registered teams.

For 3.0 & 3.5 events: (event fee is $30)

Gold: $150

Silver: $80

Bronze: $60

For 4.0 & 4.5 events: (event fee is $50)

Gold: $350

Silver: $200

Bronze: $150

For Pro events: (event fee is $75)

Gold: $600

Silver: $350

Bronze: $250

For a full Men's, Women's or MXD Pro event (16 teams), we will guarantee a $1000 prize for the gold medalists.

There will be a special prize for Triple Crown winner (3 gold medals in any 3 events); TBD.

We are also working on other prizes, pending sponsors.

This is an indoor facility. The tournament will take place except in the case of severly adverse weather that limits travel. In this case, refunds for unplayed events will be available! Subject to $25 admin fee.

NOTE: If you only signed up for ONE event, and it gets cancelled, you will qualify for a refund for registration fee as well.

By registering for this tournament, this implies you viewing and accepting the Greenhills Country Club waiver.
