Warm up your game at Paddle Taps! Join us this April for a celebration of pickleball and our 1st
anniversary! This top-notch, climate-controlled facility will host exciting matchups and competitive play
for all skill levels. Pickleball enthusiasts – players, volunteers, and spectators – won't want to miss this
fantastic pickleball action!
Tournament Format
Round Robin Pool Play:
o Teams are divided into pools based on age and skill level.
o Teams within each pool will play each other.
Medal Matches:
o Gold/Silver Medal Match: 1st Place Team from Pool 1 vs. 1st Place Team from Pool 2
o Bronze Medal Match: 2nd Place Team from Pool 1 vs. 2nd Place Team from Pool 2
o One Pool Event: If an event only has one pool, the top two teams will play for Gold and Silver,
and the third and fourth place teams will play for Bronze.
Scoring:
Pool Play: Win-loss record determines ranking.
Ties: Head-to-head record, then points for and against, are used to break ties.
Match Play: Matches will be played to 11 points, win by 2, for pools of 7-8 teams.
Match Play: Matches will be played to 15 points, win by 2, for pools of 5-6 teams.
Official Ball: Selkirk ProS1
Officiating:
Self-officiated matches with USA Pickleball rules.
The tournament is unsanctioned.
Schedule:
A detailed schedule will be emailed to participants before the tournament.
Tournament Director's Discretion:
Age pools may be combined for sufficient matches.
Skill levels will not be combined.
The Tournament Director reserves the right to modify the tournament format as necessary to enhance
the overall tournament experience.
Guaranteed Play:
All players get at least 5 matches.

Refund Policy
Cancellation Policy for The Great Defrost Anniversary Tournament
Refunds:
A 20% processing fee will be applied to all registration refunds.
Refunds will be granted for withdrawals made on or before April 10, 2025.
No refunds will be issued for withdrawals after April 10, 2025.
Transfers:
Registrations are transferable to another player with an active Pickleball Bracket profile.
Weather
Weather Cancellation Policy
Our facility is climate-controlled, maintaining a comfortable 70 degrees year-round! Therefore, the tournament will proceed as scheduled regardless of weather conditions, unless a Level 3 Snow Emergency is declared.

Welcome to The Great Defrost Anniversary Open! Your safety is important to us. Please review the following health and safety guidelines:
• Play at Your Own Risk: Participation in this tournament is at your own risk. Please be aware of the inherent risks associated with pickleball and physical activity.
• Hydration: It is crucial to stay hydrated throughout the tournament. Please drink plenty of water, even if you don't feel thirsty. Dehydration can lead to fatigue, muscle cramps, and other health issues.
• Proper Equipment: Ensure you are wearing appropriate athletic shoes and comfortable clothing suitable for pickleball. Eye protection is strongly recommended.
• Court Safety: Please help us maintain safe playing conditions by keeping all courts clear of water bottles, bags, clothing, and any other items that could create a tripping hazard.
• First Aid: Kits are located throughout the facility.
• Emergency Contact: Has been provided to us through your Pickleballbrackets profile.
By following these guidelines, we can ensure a safe and enjoyable tournament for everyone.
