Event Skill Qualification: If you have at least 30 games in DUPR, we will use a reliability score of 80 to determine which events players qualify for. A score of 80 or higher will limit players to only those skill events matching their DUPR rating, or higher. A score of 79 or lower will allow players to drop ONE skill level below their DUPR rating. This is a manual fix and requires Tournament Director approval. The process is super simple: Just email Kevin Huff at kevinmhuff@gmail.com and he will take a screenshot of your DUPR and then manually enter you into the event you wish to play in. If you do NOT have at least 30 games in DUPR, you can play at any level though we caution against the stigma associated with playing "down" (aka sandbagging).
Rating Systems: DUPR and VAIR
DUPR submission: All games will automatically go into DUPR at the conclusion of each event. In order to register, players must have a DUPR account (mandatory with pickleballtournaments.com).
VAIR: The Victory Pickleball Series also uses VAIR to establish ratings for its tournament players. All participants that don't already have a VAIR rating need to be in the VAIR system prior to playing in the Panhandle Smash, as all games will be submitted to VAIR at the conclusion of each event.

Event format:
1. All events will start with Round Robin games (aka "Pool Play") and are one game played to 11, WIN BY TWO for each match.
2. ALL TEAMS from each event will move into a single-elimination bracket to determine our Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal winners. Games are again, one game to 11, win by two except the final Gold/Bronze matches.
3. Gold and Bronze matches are ONE game to 15.
