This is our 5th annual Pickleball Competition. will be held outdoors at the Rob Leake City Park and Tennis Center, 1107 Joyner Ave, Tupelo MS. We had hoped to be playing on our 12 dedicated courts that have been under construction but were told recently they will not be ready. This will be a round robin event with pool play if we have enough teams . Plan to have it to be skill/age. Desired skill brackets are 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 + , you may register with a range of 0.5. Desired Age brackets to be 12-19, 20-39, 40-59, 60-74 and 75+. A minimum of 5 teams is required for each bracket in the major Divisions. If we have 10 teams or more in a given event, we will divide the brackets into flights of 5, with pool play to determine the medalists. We reserve the right to adjust the brackets based on the number of contestants..

On Friday in addition to our Singles competition, we will be hosting free introductory lessons for anyone wishing to learn the game.

Sat evening we are planning to host a social get together for all players.

This is a charitable fund raising event to benefit both the Boys and Girls Clubs of MS and The Talbot House.

Although we had been very hopeful that the construction would be completed in time for our tournament, I was informed that we will have to use our alternative venue as the new courts will be not ready. That will be the Rob Leake Tennis Courts located at 1107 Joyner Ave. Tupelo MS 38804

Water will be available to all players. In the AM we should have snacks and fruit. Snacks and fruit will also be provided during the day.

Brick and Mortar Restrooms are onsite as is a water fountain. Courts will be lighted and surrounded by fencing.

We will be using the Franklin X-40 outdoor ball.

You will be provided lunch both days in addition to the snacks and fruit. Please do not bring any adult beverages (alcohol) to the park.

We have made arrangements with several hotels to give our participants a special event rate. more details will be forthcoming, closer to the event.

Once registered, you may withdraw and get a refund ( minus a processing fee of $10) up to October 15th. After that refunds will be determined on a case by case basis, as we will have incurred various costs for you by that time.

We anticipate cool weather for the event. If it is raining, we will try to wait it out and dry the courts sufficiently to be able to resume play safely. If that does not look possible then we will move the Divisions to one of several indoor courts. This will require everyone to be patient and work with us as Tupelo does not currently have an indoor facility large enough to house 6 or more courts.

Since we have relocated to the Tennis Center, there is a bubble over 4 tennis courts where we could play if it is raining or just too cold..

Update Nov 7--- Forecast calls for rain Friday morning. So we have plans to use he tennis courts in the bubble ( a large tent) We will have 10 courts in there and another 6 courts in the Tupelo Middle School located at 1007 Varsity Dr. Should the weather system change, we can revert to the original plans to play on the outdoor courts..

Safety is paramount. Please call "Ball" if an errant ball rolls onto a court during a match.

If you are sick, running fever, please do not attend and let the TDs know you will be dropping out.

A table/tent will be available for minor medical issues. Cuts, scrapes, sprains should be able to be handled. EMS is only minutes away and we will have an AED onsite .
