Join us for a special UMass Lowell Homecoming event on Friday, October 17 & Saturday October 18 welcoming pickleball players ages 18 and older.
This is a non-DUPR fundraising tournament.
Proceeds will benefit the UMass Lowell STRIVE Food Pantry, Student Pickleball Club and the Campus Recreation Center.
What is STRIVE?: "As a UMass Lowell (UML) River Hawk, students strive to meet their academic goals but are often faced with challenges in meeting their basic needs whether it be food, housing, books, or other resources. We are committed to supporting our students through access to food, housing, and additional resources needed to be successful and meet academic goals at UMass Lowell."
Tournament Games Format:
-Round Robin pool game format. Full Bracket teams of 6 or more will play games to 11 win by 1. Brackets with 4 & 5 will play games to 15 win by 1.
-There will be medal rounds. Top 4 seeds advance with 1st/2nd playing for gold and 3rd/4th playing for bronze.
-All Brackets will have a maximum of 8 teams with a minimum of 4 teams. Brackets will be merge first by level and then age if not full. There will be no waitlists as we are capping brackets so that all brackets begin on time.
The Tournament Director reserves the right to merge brackets if there are not enough teams for a bracket, then skill divisions. We will do a round robin format with possibility of playoffs depending on time permitting. We reserve the right to combine or split brackets as necessary based on timing and those involved.
