Are you the real "Dill" of Virginia or at least kind of a big "Dill"??? Come out and show us what you got! This is the first of many pickleball tournaments to come from Upshot Pickleball and we are excited to welcome you 😊 (Note: You MUST be a USAPA member. Location:

This tournament will be held in the state-of-the-art University of Mary Washington tennis facility (University Tennis Center, 1200 Hanover St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401).

There is plenty of space for play, spacious hallways and an upper deck area for the best views overlooking all the courts. Chairs will not be permitted on the courts. There are benches alongside the courts for players/limited spectators/coaches. There will be 12 courts with a combination of temporary durable “pro-grade” nets and temporary portable nets.

Format:

• Overall: Double Elimination*

• Winners Bracket: Matches are best 2 games out of 3 with games to 11 win by 2

• Consolation Bracket: Matches will be 1 game to 15 win by 2

• Gold/Silver medal matches are best 2 games out of 3, games to 11 win by 2. If the opponent/team, who came out of the consolation bracket, beats the team that came out of the winners bracket, the teams must play one more match consisting of 1 game to 15 win by 2.

Schedule:

• Singles will be on Friday, March 31, 2023 (We will try to start in the afternoon. We get it, people work on Fridays 😉)

• Gender Doubles will be on Saturday April 1, 2023 all day

• Mixed Doubles will be on Sunday April 2, 2023 all day

Ball:

• Lime Green Franklin X-40 outdoor ball (per the updated 2023 USA Pickleball rules, please do not wear predominately lime green apparel or you will be asked to change)

Cost:

• Registration (includes participation in any 1 event) - $65

• Additional events - $15

Your official UTPR ratings will be used to determine brackets and your tournament results will be sent to USA Pickleball to be reflected in your UTPR ratings.

Brackets will be grouped by Skill/Age.

*Any brackets with less than 5 teams will be a round robin or combined with another bracket of the same skill/different age group.

This tournament will have ranking points attached to it (for Upshot Pickleball use only).

Food Trucks will be available on-site for food and beverage purchases.
