JOIN Pickleball and We Fortify are excited to team up to bring you the inaugural "Serve to Serve" Team Tournament, held in Colorado Springs on Sat, Sep. 21! This is not your typical tournament; it's an exciting team-based event (4 people per team) suited for all skill levels. This event is a fundraiser to benefit We Fortify, which is a non-profit whose goal is to help pivot young adults out of poverty by providing safe dignified housing. For more info on We Fortify, please visit: http://workingfusion.com
With this unique team event format, our goal is for players to have fun and build camaraderie with their teammates. All players on each team will play the same number of total games in different gender formats: women's doubles, men's doubles, and mixed doubles. We encourage teams to dress in matching outfits. We'll have prizes for best dressed teams, best team spirit, most creative team names, etc as well as raffle prizes for some pickleball gear and swag!
REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS
There are three different player categories for registration:
"Team Captains"
One person from each team must register in this category. This player will act as team captain and will be responsible for being the main point of contact for each team. Captains must email us their team name and the names of the 3 other players that will be playing on their team.
"Team Members"
All other members of teams besides captains must register in this category. All teams must consist of at least 2 females.
"Free Agents/Individuals"
If you are an individual or only have one other person you want to play with, register in this category (and email us if you have somebody you're wanting to be on the same team with).
Email for team members and team pairing requests: craig.duncan@livelifefun.com
SKILL DIVISIONS & GENDER/AGE REQUIREMENTS
- 3.0 & Under (Basic): 2 females minimum
- 3.5 (Intermediate): 2 females + 2 males
- 4.0 & Above (Competitive): 2 females + 2 males
All teams must have at least 4 players.
For 3.0, we recommend 2 men & 2 women per team (but 3 or 4 women per team is also acceptable, if desired).
Players can play "up" in skill level but not "down." For example, if two players on a team are 3.5 and two players are 3.0, that team would need to register for the 3.5 division. Tournament director maintains final discretion on team division assignments.
PRICING
The registration fee is $55 per person plus a $5 processing fee. Each person on the team must register and pay their fees in order for the team to be considered complete and entered into the event.
TEAM FORMAT
Each team will rotate playing different team opponents in a round robin style format. Each team will play at least 3 other teams for 3 team matches, with each individual playing 2 games against each opponent. This means each player is guaranteed at least 6 games total for their event.
Each team match against each opponent will consist of 4 games. For every division, the default game format for each team match will be women's doubles, men's doubles, mixed doubles, mixed doubles.
For the 3.0 division: if a team has more than 2 females, that team can choose how to arrange their pairings to match the other team's default gender pairings. Each game must be played with a different partner.
Final standings for each division will be determined by total number of games won. If there is a tie in total number of games won, the first tie breaker is head to head result, and then second tie breaker is total point differential. Playoff format will depend on total number of teams in division (e.g. playoff could be top 2 teams for smaller divisions or it could be top 4 teams for larger divisions). If a team match is tied 2-2 in a playoff match, the tiebreaker will be a game of skinny singles where all 4 players will rotate playing every 4 points in a game to 21 with rally scoring.
START TIMES
All teams will start at 8am. Check-in and warm-ups will begin at 7am. Check-in no later than 7:30am.

Additional Information
We will use the Selkirk Pro S1 ball. Results will NOT be submitted to DUPR. Results will NOT count toward your PBB stats either, i.e. games will not count toward any rating metrics anywhere.
