This charity pickleball tournament benefits the Lufkin Education Foundation and is open to all skill levels from beginner / novice and up. The mission of the Lufkin ISD Education Foundation is to provide opportunities for excellence in education, promote innovation in teaching, and partner with the community to enhance the quality of education for all students of the Lufkin Independent School District.

Registration and first event: $45.00 per person and each additional event $10.00 per person

Maximum number of events per player: 3 (singles, gender doubles, mixed doubles)

All participants will receive a goodie bag generously donated by our sponsors.

Gold, Silver, Bronze medals to be awarded per category

This is a non-sanctioned, unofficiated pickleball tournament.

Registration is online only. For the Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles Events, registration is not complete until BOTH players have registered, signed the online waiver, and PAID.

All players must complete registration by April 1st at 11:30 pm.

By entering this tournament, you are agreeing to all rules and regulations including those stated in the waiver.

Format: Depending on the number of participants, a round robin or double round robin format will be used, 1 game to 11 win by 2. Bracket play will be played for medal winners.

Tournament director retains the right to change the format as necessary.

Inclement Weather Policy:

This tournament is being held at an uncovered, outdoor venue. The tournament staff will do everything possible to complete this tournament during the scheduled weekend as weather permits. As this is a charity pickleball tournament, should inclement weather impact this tournament by having to either cancel or shorten play, there will be no refunds, credits or make up days given.

What-A-Pickleball Tournament benefitting Lufkin Education Foundation Assumption of Risk.

Participation in the Event carries with it certain inherent risks that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid injuries. The specific risks vary, and may include:

1) minor injuries such as bruises, sprains and dehydration,

2) major injuries such as eye injuries, joint or back injuries, heat stroke, heart attacks, and concussions, and

3) catastrophic injuries such as paralysis and/or death.

I have read the previous paragraphs, and I know, understand and appreciate these and other risks that are inherent in playing pickleball. I assert that my participation is voluntary and that I knowingly assume all such risks.

Indemnification and Hold Harmless. I also agree to indemnify and hold Pickleball Brackets, LiveWell Athletic Club, the City of Lufkin (and its park facilities), Lufkin Education Foundation and the event directors, their officers, employees, agents and volunteers of this tournament harmless from any and all claims, actions, suits, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities, including attorney’s fees brought as a result of my involvement in the What-A-Pickleball Tournament benefiting Lufkin Education Foundation.
