Format: Final brackets will be created by age and skill levels if registration permits after registration closes. The format will be round robin with medal play for the four top teams in each bracket. The two top teams in each bracket will play for gold and silver, and the next two teams will play for bronze. All teams are guaranteed a minimum of four games.
Brackets must have at least 4 teams with a maximum of 7 teams per bracket. When skill levels, such as women's 3.0, have more than seven teams, brackets will be created by age breakdowns into smaller brackets. The number and size of brackets will be determined by the number of players signed up for each skill level. If a bracket is created with four teams, the teams will play a double round robin with games to 11 (win by one). If a bracket is created with five teams, the teams will play a single round robin of games to 15 (win by one). If a bracket is created with six teams, the teams will play a round robin of games to 12 (win by one). If a bracket is created with seven teams, the teams will play a round robin of games to 11 (win by one). All medal matches will be one game to 15 (win by two).
The Franklin X-40 will be the exclusive official ball of the tournament.
You must sign up at the skill level of the higher rated partner. Players with a PickleballBrackets.com rating must use that rating. Players with a USAPA UTPR rating but no PickleballBrackets.com rating must use the UTPR rating. Players with neither rating may self rate. Ratings will be verified when registration closes. The tournament reserves the right to move players and teams between brackets. Age limit deadline will be as of 12/31/2023.
In the case of wait lists, teams will take priority over individuals. Our goal is to accommodate as many people as the schedule will allow - but at the same time have a well-rounded tournament with brackets based on a combination of skill level and age.
**** AGE NOTE: When registering, you will NOT see any age divisions. Based on the registration, teams will be put in brackets based on age and skill level. For age divisions, a team must play at the age of the younger player.
This is an non sanctioned outdoor tournament. Start times for your bracket will be announced the week of the tournament.
All start times are subject to change and brackets might be merged or split based on event registration.
