Tournament Description

This tournament is a featured event of the 2025 Capital Cup World Pride Celebration. Players MUST register for the Capital Cup BEFORE signing up here for the Pickleball Tournament.

Registration Costs:
1. Capital Cup World Pride Celebration sign up Fee - $37 (includes all sports events)
2. World Pride 2025 Pickleball Tournament Sign up Fee - $30
3. Individual Event fee for each Doubles or Singles event - $30
4. PickleballTournaments.com Software Use Fee. $5 for one event, $10 for more than one event.
Tournament Details:
- A global gathering of LGBTQ+ pickleball enthusiasts.
- Round Robin format for competitive matches.
- Special guest appearances from professional pickleball players LGBTQ+ celebrities.
- Celebrating diversity, inclusivity, and the love of the game.
- Open to all skill levels
- A chance to connect with like-minded individuals from around the world
- Tourney will be inclusive of deaf and HOH players and will have sign language interpretation
- Tourney will be transgender inclusive and gender expansive--players are encouraged to sign up with the gender they identify with. There is no gender binary tournament option. It is set up by skill level only but will be split by age AFTER REGISTRATION CLOSES.

3.0 and 3.5 Doubles - Saturday, May 31st - All Day Starting at approximately 8:30 AM
4.0 and 4.5+ Doubles - Sunday, June 1st - All day starting at approximately 8:30 AM
This is a Skill Level/Age Group Tournament. Registration is by skill level.
SKILL LEVEL GROUPS WILL BE SPLIT BY AGE TO CREATE PLAYING BRACKETS.
Age groups will be determined by registration numbers.
Registration is limited to 500 Players.
For doubles events, you must sign up at the skill level of the higher rated partner. Players with a DUPR rating must use that rating. The self rating will be used for anyone who does not have a DUPR rating.

Skill levels are determined at the time of the tournament and will be updated on April 29th, one week before registration closes.

The tournament reserves the right to move players and teams between skill level brackets as a result of updated ratings.
Players with an updated skill level that is HIGHER than when they signed up will be moved up.
Players with an updated skill level that is LOWER than when they signed up may request to be moved down. Requests MUST be received no later than midnight on the day that registration closes. CLICK ON THE CONTACT TOURNEY LINK ABOVE TO REQUEST A SKILL LEVEL CHANGE

For a guaranteed spot in doubles, starting on April 1, 2025, the second partner must sign up within 7 days of the first partner's registration. Incomplete teams will be moved to the waiting list after that OR WHEN REGISTRATION CLOSES. Once the second partner registers, they will be moved back into the event IF THERE ARE SPOTS LEFT IN THE TOURNAMENT AND THE EVENT AND REGISTRATION IS STILL OPEN.
The tournament is limited to 500 players and will automatically close when that number is reached. Daily and Team limits on events may be set as registration progresses. Both partners should register early for a guaranteed spot.
The tournament format is round robin for events with a small number of teams. For events with more than 9 teams, teams will be divided into two or more seeded pools and the top two teams in each pool will advance to a playoff round to determine medal winners.

Shuttle Bus offered to and from Athlete Village at RFK Stadium to the venue.
Food and drinks are not permitted on the courts or in the court area. There will be a community room available for those who wish to bring snacks or lunch.
Limited seating available. Spectators should bring a folding chair.

Refund Policy

This is a fund raising tournament in support of expanding pickleball in Washington DC. There are no refunds for tournament or event withdrawals but any money raised in excess of the tournament costs will be donated toward furthering that mission such as providing nets, balls, equipment chests for supplies, paint to line new courts, etc.
