Ratings: If you have a PickleballBrackets.com or DUPR rating, you should register using this rating. If you have no rating, use a self-rating. A team must play at the skill level of the higher rated player.
As registration proceeds, tournament management reserves the option to combine brackets (if brackets do not fill) or to break brackets into pools (based on age group). If a bracket/pool is designated by age, the age of the younger player will be used to determine the appropriate bracket.
Each bracket/pool will play a Round Robin format; your team will play one match against every other team in your bracket/pool.
Each match will be one game to 11, win by 2. Each game is allotted 15 minutes. At the end of 15 minutes, team with highest score wins. If tie exists at end of 15 minutes, then last serving team serves one additional point … winner of that point wins the game.
For all brackets, after Round Robin is completed, the four teams having the highest number of games won will proceed to a playoff round. The first and second top scoring teams will play one game to determine the Gold and Silver medals. The third and fourth top scoring teams will play one game to determine the Bronze medal. In the event of a tie, the criteria detailed below will be used to determine the standing for the top four teams.
Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded for each bracket. Awards will be presented at the completion of each division after the games have been tabulated.
Competition each day may begin as early as 8:30 a.m. and may finish as late as 6:00 p.m. Specific start times for each event will be posted and emailed to players approximately two days prior to the event.
There are no referees; all matches are self-monitored; No Exceptions.
Criteria for Determining Top Four Teams for Medal Round:
1. Total matches won
2. First tie-breaker: head-to-head matches won.
3. Second tie-breaker: point differential of all games played. (Example: Team A won Match 1 11-8, 11-4, so they would have a point differential of +10. Team A then wins the second match 11-9, 2-11, 11-6. For this round, they would have a point 50 differential of -2. This would give them a total for the day of +8.)
4. Third tie-breaker: head-to-head point differential.
5. Fourth tie-breaker: point differential against next-highest team. (Example: If the teams are tied for second, use point differentials against the first-place team.)
The ball used will be the Franklin X40 outdoor ball in the color Yellow.
