Friday - Welcome party with recreational play - Stay tuned for details, we will have food and non-alcoholic drinks.

Saturday - Men's and Women's Doubles, lunch is provided to players.

Sunday - Mixed Doubles, lunch is provided to players.

The tournament brackets will be skill/age

Our age brackets will be 14-49 and 50+

You may register at a lower age bracket

Registration is by skill level: 2.5 and below, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 & 4.5+.

There is a maximum capacity of 120 players for the tournament. Registration will automatically close when that number is reached.

Registration Closes Sunday November 26 @ 5:00 p.m.

$60.00 Registration Fee, plus additional Pickleball Brackets fees for Saturday and Sunday Events.

The Friday introduction/party is free!

** Please make sure your partner registers as well and is paid by the closing.

A team must play at the skill level of the higher rated player and the age of the younger player. If you do not have a rating and are self rating, please advise the tournament directors. Tournament Directors will have final say in self-rating.

Weekend Schedule

Friday - Festivities start at 5pm - 8.30pm.

Saturday- Men's and Women's Doubles. Check-in to begin at 8am - Matches will start at 9am. (exact start times for each division will be available by the Friday of the tournament)

Courts are available for warm up Saturday morning prior to start time.

Sunday- Mixed Doubles. Check-in to begin at 8am -Matches will start at 9am ( exact start times for each division will be available Wednesday after draws are made) Courts are available for warm up Sunday morning anytime prior to start time.

Each division will play a round robin format. All matches will be 2 out of 3 games to 11 win by 2. (if a 3rd game is played, switch side when one team reaches 6 points). In case of a small bracket (3) you will either be combined with another bracket or play a double round robin. Tournament Directors will make the assignment.)

Divisions with 7 teams or fewer will play a round robin against each of the other teams. Medals determined by RR results.

Divisions with 8 teams or more will be divided into 2 pools with the top 2 teams in each pool advancing to the medal rounds. (top 2 teams will play for gold, 2 games to 11 win by 2. 2nd place teams from each division will play for bronze, 2 games to 11, win by 2.)

Tournament format subject to change, based on number of entries.

Parking- Lots of parking is available.

Spectators will be allowed to set up chairs against the walls of the gyms.

USAP rules will be used for this event and only USAP approved paddles are allowed. If you have a question about your paddle, look it up on the USAP approved list or ask for a referee when you check-in. Use of an illegal paddle could result in match forfeit.

Since its founding in 1979, the Boys Ranch has housed and nurtured over 1,000 boys. The program is designed for boys 12 to 17 years of age who are in need of a stable environment. Many of the boys who come to the Ranch are victims of abuse, neglect, addiction, and unstable environments, which leads to maladaptive behaviors. Our support team provides a safe, stable, and nurturing environment that is both educational and therapeutic in nature so that our boys feel secure. Within our facility our boys have found a specific interest in pickleball and enjoy playing for hours each day.

The Boys Ranch Christmas Classic is a fun-filled event that brings together players of all skill levels, combining pickleball enthusiasts and members of the community. The tournament will take place December 2nd and 3rd at Fritchie Park in Slidell, Louisiana. This event serves as a platform to promote health, wellness, and community engagement, while raising vital funds to support our ongoing programs and initiatives.

Tournament is done

Round Robin format. If a bracket requires medal matches, they will be single elimination.

Tie breaking will be IFP format:

Total matches won

First tie-breaker: head-to-head matches won.

12.C.3.b.

Second tie-breaker: point differential of all games played.

(e.g., Team A won Match 1 11-8, 11-4, so they would have a point differential of +10.

Team A then wins the second match 11-9, 2-11, 11-6.

For this round, they would have a point 50 differential of -2.

This would give them a total for the day of +8.)

Fourth tie-breaker: point differential against next-highest team. (e.g., If the teams are tied for second, use point differentials against the first-place team.)

Cancellations made BEFORE 11/18/2023 will receive a full refund, minus PB fees. Players who withdraw after the entry deadline will NOT receive a refund.

In case of Rain - As this is an indoor tournament, we will play even if it rains. There are no refunds for weather cancellations.
