Pints & Paddle is excited to partner with The Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund to support cancer research, prevention, treatment, and community needs throughout Minnesota.
Together, we are hosting Slam & Jam — a summer weekend of festivities, featuring Minnesota’s largest pickleball tournament, live music, cornhole, delicious food and refreshing drinks. Don’t miss out on the fun – come join us and make a difference!
Summer Slam and Jam is presented by Experience Maple Grove, PIKKL and Culvers.
All divisions start and finish IN A SINGLE DAY.
Competitive Play
- Divisions for all skill levels, including Beginner, Senior and Pro divisions.
- Round robin play in pools of 6 teams across 2 courts at a brand new 18-court outdoor facility (Lakeview Knolls Park), just 5 minutes from Pints & Paddle.
- All teams advance to the same day March Madness style single-elimination bracket at Pints & Paddle.
- Both facilities located in Maple Grove, MN. Less than 5 minutes apart.
- All teams get a minimum of 6 games.
Post-Game Fun
- Relax and watch the championship matches, courtside or from our second floor mezzanine.
- Enjoy delicious food and drinks at the attached Pints & Paddle's taproom, featuring 78 self-serve taps and a scratch-made American kitchen.
- Unwind on the spacious patio with live music playing all day long.

- Thursday Night Pro/Celebrity Showdown: Kick off the event with a night of exhibition matches featuring pickleball pros and local celebrities!
- Pro Divisions Friday and Saturday: Watch the best of the best compete for a shot at the $2,000 prize purse (FOR EACH DIVISION) in the Pro Divisions on Friday and Saturday night.
- Sip and Shop: Browse the latest pickleball gear, athletic apparel, nutrition products, and more at the exhibitor booths on Court 10! Local brands will be showcasing their products throughout the tournament.
- Give to a Great Cause: Registration fees benefit the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund.
Pricing: $110 per team ($55 per individual)
* Prices may increase depending on registration numbers. Sign up NOW to lock in the lowest rate.
*Individuals will be paired, as this is a doubles tournament.
Important: After registering, teams have 7 days to register their partner. Teams that miss this deadline will be moved to the waitlist.
Senior divisions are for players 60 years and older.

Divisions can start as early as 7am and as late as 6pm. Specific division times will be released at least 2 weeks before the event, once registration numbers have been finalized.
Choosing the Correct Skill Division:
- Sign up for the division matching your HIGHER skilled player. For example, if Player A is 3.8 and Player B is 4.1, choose the 4.0 - 4.5 division.
- The tournament Director WILL adjust teams to ensure fair competition. Please signup for the correct division to make this easier for us.
- DUPR rating is NOT required. We may reach-out to unrated players to confirm the correct division.

Additional Information
- Round robin games will be played to 11 points, win by 1.
- Bracket games will be played to 11 points, win by 2 OR first team to 15.
- Semi-final games will be played to 15, win by 1.
- 3rd place games will be played to 15, win by 1.
- Championship games will be best 2 / 3, play to 11, win by 2 OR first team to 15.
- This could be adjusted to a single game to 15 if timing does not permit.
Teams will be limited to a single 1 minute timeout per game.
DUPR Scores WILL be recorded for all amateur divisions this tournament. It will NOT be recorded for Pro/Open divisions.
Prizes given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

In the interest of maintaining the tournament schedule, the Pickleball Director reserves the right to adjust scoring rules as needed. However, any adjustments will be announced and applied consistently across all matches.
Discount apply to the normal event cost. Discounts used for open divisions will only provide a discount up to the normal registration event cost.

Refund Policy
Registration fees support the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund. We offer full refunds for cancellations received up to 7 days before the tournament. For cancellations within 7 days of the event, no refunds will be issued.

Weather
Registration fees directly benefit the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund.
We'll make every effort to hold the tournament, even in slightly bad weather. However, due to the charitable nature of this event, refunds cannot be issued for weather-related modifications.

Health & Safety
Participation is at your own risk. The tournament organizers are not responsible for any injuries or accidents sustained during the event.
We are pleased to have Dr. Jeff Mair along with a few nurses from TCO available at the outdoor facility from 12-5pm on all 3 tournament days. They will be treating acute injuries.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, please adhere to the following:
- Consult your doctor before participating, especially if you have any pre-existing medical conditions.
- Warm-up and stretch thoroughly before playing to prevent injuries.
- Stay hydrated throughout the tournament by drinking plenty of water.
- Wear proper attire and footwear: Closed-toe court shoes are mandatory.
- Be aware of your surroundings: Avoid collisions with other players, court hazards, and equipment.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with your opponents and teammates.
- Play within your limits: Don't attempt risky maneuvers that could lead to injury.
- Report any unsafe conditions to the tournament organizers immediately.
- Listen to your body: If you experience any pain or discomfort, stop playing and seek medical attention.
