It's time for the Annual Furry Fracas!
This tourney is one of the best attended each year in Indiana, coming in at 450 players in 2025.
And this year, it is part of the VICTORY PICKLEBALL SERIES!!
Details for this event:
Location: The Picklr - Noblesville, IN
Dates: Jan 29 thru Feb 1, 2026
Events: Singles, Gender Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and OPEN Events
Event Dates: All 60+ and 70+ doubles events will be on Thursday and Friday (Jan 29-30); Singles will be on THU and FRI starting at 4pm; Gender Doubles will be Saturday (Jan 31). Mixed Doubles will be Sunday (Feb 1).
Ball: The official 2026 Victory Pickleball Series ball is the Lifetime LT Pro 48 Pickleball.
DUPR: Players will be restricted access to events that match their DUPR. a "3.0" event means a player can't be above a 3.499 to qualify. We will make exceptions using the 80% Rule: If a player has a reliability of LOWER than 80%, they may play down ONE skill level. For instance: A player has a DUPR of 4.3 but a reliability of 58%. This qualifies as "under 80% reliability" and the player may play down a maximum of ONE level. Since a DUPR of 4.3 would allow a player to play as low as 4.0, the 80% Rule allows them to play down one level to 3.5. There will be no opportunity to play lower than one skill level down, even with a reliability of 1%.
The 80% Rule provides players the best likelihood of playing others with similar skill levels in each event. Unfortunately there is no way to screen DUPR reliability during signups, so any application of the 80% Rule will require contacting the Tournament Director (kevinmhuff@gmail.com) for a quick review and then manual entry into the event(s).
DUPR submission: All games will be put in DUPR. The OPEN events have a minimum DUPR to enter.
Event format: All events start with Round Robin games played to 11, WIN BY TWO. Then all events and ALL TEAMS from each event move into a single-elimination bracket to determine our Gold, Silver, Bronze medal winners. In non-OPEN events, Gold and Bronze matches will be one game to 15, win by 2. In OPEN events, all Gold and Bronze matches will be best 2 of 3, games to 11 win by 2.
MONEY BALL: We WANT to have MONEYBALL as a component to our OPEN events. Our current plan (as of Nov 29) is to offer a Men's Doubles OPEN, a Women's Doubles OPEN, and a Mixed Doubles OPEN. Since this is a fundraiser for a great cause (Hamilton County Humane Society), we need a minimum of 60 players signed up across MD and WD in order to provide full payouts in each of the four moneyball events as follows:
1st place: Each player earns $500
2nd place: Each player earns $250
3rd place: Each player earns $125.
... That means the total prize money awarded is $5,250!!
* There is an additional $15 charge to play in each OPEN event.
