Tournament Description
The Hopkinton Center for the Arts ("HCA") in collaboration with the Metrowest YMCA presents "The Wicked Pickle 2024", our 2nd Annual Pickleball Tournament Fundraiser on Saturday, Oct 26th. It's fun for all with 3 levels of play across the day -- Beginners in the morning, Intermediate mid-day, and Advanced in the late afternoon (see below for more specific times).
This event joins a lineup of fun Halloween-themed events happening as part of the HCA's Wicked Weekend, Oct 25-27th, 2024.
Wicked Pickle players are encouraged to wear a costume -- even just a crazy hat -- in honor of Halloween and in the spirit of maximum fun. In addition to a chance to win in your bracket of play, you and your costume will be considered in the 'Best Costume' competition.
HCA's Wicked Pickle 2024 sponsorships are still available. Please reach out if interested.
The HCA is a visual and performing arts center serving individuals of all ages, cultures, and artistic abilities across the MetroWest region of Massachusetts. Under one roof, the HCA celebrates the arts through classes and events in visual art, theater, music, dance, ceramics, writing, and film. The HCA is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization based in Hopkinton MA. The MetroWest YMCA is a cause-driven charitable organization that helps people build a healthy spirit, mind, and body. The Y focuses on nurturing the potential of every youth and teen, improving the health and well-being of MetroWest residents, and giving back to the community.
Your entrance fee (exclusive of the PickleballBrackets.com service fee) is a donation that will be shared by both the HCA and the Metrowest YMCA. Thank you for supporting the arts and community!

Registering:
ALL participants must FIRST either already have or create their own FREE www.Pickleball.com user account and profile BEFORE they can register for the Wicked Pickle. As of Aug 2024, Pickleball.com for players and Pickleball Brackets for tournament organizers are part of the same company, so if you already have a Pickleball Brackets account from our 2023 Wicked Pickle, you should automatically have the same username and password at Pickleball.com. Check to make sure. Otherwise, create a new one so you can register. Sorry, if it's confusing. That’s a fast growing sport for you!
Designating a Doubles Partner:
BOTH players MUST register and pay SEPARATELY to be in the bracket. You cannot register your partner for them. However, when you register yourself for the Wicked Pickle, you can identify a partner by picking their Pickleball.com profile if they have one. If they do not Pay and Register within 3-5 days, both players will be waitlisted. When your partner registers and pays, then your team will automatically be put back into the main draw if there is still room.
Need a Partner?
If you don’t yet have a partner and would like to match with someone in your bracket, choose “need a partner” when you register. You can see who else might need a partner and reach out.
Entrance Fee:
$60 per person (plus a $5 PB Brackets service fee)
FREE Beginner's Clinic (for registered players only):
For those new to Pickleball or just learning the game, plan to attend a FUN and FREE Beginner's Clinic (donations welcome) approximately 45 min prior to the start of the morning Beginner's bracket. The clinic will review Pickljavascript:void(0)eball rules, what to expect when playing a tournament, and the primary shots in Pickleball. Donations welcome.
To reserve your spot in the clinic or if you need a paddle, please email joegammal98@gmail.com or janetbceddia@gmail.com.
Rain Date: Sunday, Oct 27, 2024
The tournament balls used will be Dura Soft 40.
